The goal of our events is to bring writers and industry professionals
together in a convivial setting that allows the parties to work intensely
and individually to prepare the writer’s projects for the marketplace. Our Fall Fiction workshop was held on October 29-31 at the Little River Inn on the beautiful Mendocino, California coast. The weather couldn't have been more pleasant - sunshine in the afternoon and just the right fall chill in the air; even if a drizzle did keep us off the beach for our bonfire on Saturday night, the staff of the Little River Inn rose to the occasion with their usual grace and served us hot chocolate in front of a roaring fireplace in the Abalone Room. Participants worked hard to refine their fiction writing with editors from New York and the West Coast, along with published authors. As with our workshop last winter, where one of our attendees garnished a book contract (Bantam), one of this year's novelists is about to receive an offer from Penguin Putnam. Here are some of the comments that our attendees had to share:
One of our Presenter/Editors Sal Glynn had this to say about the conference:
Here are some photos from our 2004 FALL Fiction conference. Thanks to all who participated, it was a wonderful conference! Check back for updates on future conferences and workshops
